The Super Bowl 50 is already two Sundays gone, yet, its rippling effects on the American society continues because Beyonce used the platform to perform her politically-conscious single Formation.
Queen Bey, performing alongside Bruno Mars, was backed by her fleet of dancers dressed as Black Panthers, raising their fists and making an X formation in honor of Malcolm X.
Since her controversial performance, some have tried to plan an Anti-Beyonce protest (which turned out to believe the biggest fail in life) as well as members of law enforcement across the nation have blaming police related deaths on her new single.
According to TMZ, the hierarchy in the New York Police Department (NYPD) said they don’t think the superstar entertainer advocated for violence against police, but that’s how the performance came across and because of it, the NYPD source says they want an explanation, and to publicly say she doesn’t endorse violence against the police.
The NYPD source was also quick to say that the department may not likely join the boycott, as they promise to protect Bey when she comes to New York.
The Miami Police Union, on Thursday called for a boycott of Beyonce’s upcoming April tour of the country by Police and other law enforcement agencies. Although critics have considered the boycott unnecessary, other Police departments have began to discuss whether to join the boycott.
Police in Tennessee are already blaming Beyonce for recent the recent killing of officers in the state, claiming that her anti-police performance has instigated recent violence against law enforcement officers.
